I really wasn't sure whether I should write this post and it took me quite a while to write it but here it is and I hope you like it!
I started this blog as a food blog just a year ago. I love food, it's my passion and it makes me happy.
However, over the Christmas holidays I made the decision to start writing about lifestyle. One of my 2016 goals is to be braver so this will be the first thing I do! It took a lot of thinking to go for it but I really wanted to share some of my experiences with you. There are so many amazing lifestyle blogs out there, I just wasn't sure I could compare to them but then again it's the same with food bloggers and here I am. Plus, as Oscar Wilde said, "Practice precedes perfection".
Let me explain why I wanted to do this. Towards the end of 2015, I was getting ill very often with colds, flu, tonsilitis, horrible headaches and literally sick. There was a point when stress at work was so intense I started losing my hair, I had anxiety and suffered from insomnia. To be honest, 2015 was a bit up and down. I've had 3 different jobs, I've had less time to see my family and friends, and plans just didn't go as planned.
Now, don't get me wrong, 2015 has been pretty amazing as well! I've made great memories such as this one, I got a new job, you just need to check my instagram, it's full of real great moments! I live in an amazing city, I like my job, I love my blog and everybody I've met through it, I have great friends and a family that loves me to bits. We have been on holidays and nights away, I have been spoilt rotten this Christmas and my sister had twins! I definitely cannot complain and believe me, I'm not. I am a very lucky girl.
But I started the year feeling like I needed to take better care of myself and make more time for myself. I used to meditate quite a few times a week and had relaxing facials every so often. I don't do any of it anymore!
What I want to do with these posts is share my experiences and the things I learn on my journey; share the things that make me happy and as I write these posts not only remind me to take time off but as well give you ideas so we can all lead happier lives. I feel we all need to take some time off and make time for ourselves. Sometimes a cup of tea and a good book is all we need to recharge our batteries! But I want to go further than that and share what works for me (and might work for you), things that help me relax.
I will still write a lot about food and share more healthy recipes. As well, I will be sharing (and starting) my training for my 2016 running goal soon! I hope this will inspire you and that you'll take this journey with me.
