I am a cheese lover, no doubt about that. There is nothing that I crave more often than cheese. Cheesy pizzas and pastas, baked camemberts, grilled cheese, cheese on toast… They are all things I crave quite often.
In summer, I love cheesy burgers coming out of the barbeque with the cheese melting on top… I’m already daydreaming!
These are little cheesy bites that go down a treat at any party. Everybody loves them, they are cheap and so easy to make!
Here is what you need (for a small party):
1 sheet of puff pastry
1 packet of grated mature cheese (200-250g)
a little bit of milk or 1 beaten egg (to wash the bites before baking)
Pre heat the oven at 200 degrees/ 180FAN.
Roll out the pastry on a floured chopping board. On half of the pastry sprinkle a good amount of cheese (1-2 handfuls) and fold the pastry over and sprinkle some flour. With a rolling pin, roll it out again and do it all over again: cheese, fold, roll out 3-4 more times depending how well the pastry holds. You could as well before folding the last time sprinkle a little cayenne pepper, it enhances the taste and gives a little kick. You might not use the entire packet of cheese but I like to put lots of cheese!
Cut in little pieces and milk or egg wash.
Place on a lined baking tray and cook for about 10 min or until golden brown.
