Sticky BBQ Chcken Wings

For me, summer is not summer unless there is sun cream, a burnt nose, refreshing drinks and of course a BBQ.
A must for a BBQ is chicken wings, you can't have a barbeque without chicken wings. These are sticky and deliciously sweet you could add a bit more spice if you like them hot. Best of all, you can make them in the oven if the weather turns sour or if you fancy them as a treat while watching a movie (big fan of chicken wings and popcorn, a very nutritious meal in front of the TV!) or if you don't have a garden.

It is very simple to make, put the chicken wings in a freezing bag, if you have a good BBQ sauce you can pour a good amount in the bag over the chicken, close the bag very well and mix until all the bits of chicken are covered. If you don’t have BBQ sauce, mix these ingredients together and do the same. Put all in a bag, close and mix well.

Here is what you need:

A packet of chicken wings, drummettes and mid-section separated and tip cut off and discarded
1/2 tsp. chilli Powder
1 tsp. oregano or Italian herbs
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. mustard powder
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
½ tsp. ground cumin
½ tsp. ground coriander
1 tsp. honey
3 tbsp. Ketchup
Little drizzle of olive oil to help it coat evenly
Good pinch of salt

Let the chicken marinate in the mixture in the bag for at least 30 min, ideally a couple hours or over night.

Pre-heat the oven at 200 degrees/180 FAN. Line a baking tray with foil, and put a rail on top. Place all the chicken wings on the rail, separating them a little bit from each other so they cook well. Cook in the oven for 40-45min.
