Yesterday was a beautiful sunny Saturday in London and to top it up, I went to a very cool event organised by About Time Magazine and Pret a Manger.
About Time Magazine is an online lifestyle magazine with amazing ideas and places to go in London. They often have events and when I saw they were doing one in collaboration with Pret, I had to sign up.
A whole bunch of bloggers and foodies went to the Pret Headquarters near Victoria Station for this exciting event. We were greeted with all the juices you could think of, pastries and these great little pots of coconut yogurt.
The event was extremely insightful and all about how to pitch your ideas to editors and some great advise about building your blog and personal brand. However, the highlight of the day was lunch and that is why we were all at Pret HQ! We got to taste the amazing new Spring menu full of fresh ingredients and goodness.
There are 4 new salads and they were absolutely delicious:
- quinoa and lentil base with baby kale and salmon
- quinoa and lentils base with baby kale, beetroot, butternut squash and feta
- noodles and shredded veggies with chicken and kimchi (a sort of Korean salad)
- noodles and shredded veggies with crayfish and mango
As you see, there are 2 different bases and then the toppings. I preferred the quinoa and lentil base as I don't really like cabbage (present in the other salads). My favourite was the salmon, I was full afterwards but the salmon had so much flavour and it was cooked to perfection.
All in all it was a great day, I learned a lot and met lots of great people and I had amazing food! How could I not enjoy a day where there was food?! The new Pret Spring menu comes out on Tuesday so make sure you go and try it! And let me know your thoughts!
