Degustabox October + Chorizo Pasta Bake


I always look forward to my Degustabox and make up some recipes with whatever is inside the box.

Here is what we found inside of the box and don’t miss my recipe at the bottom for the best chorizo pasta bake ever! (I'm sorry for the missing pics of the products! I lost my memory card.. Check their website for each products details!)

Lorina Coconut and Lime Lemonade - I wasn’t a huge fan of this lemonade. I thought the lime taste was masked behind the coconut taste so it ruined it a little for me. But if you like coconut water I’d definitely recommend it.
The Snack Organisation – Freeze dried fruit. Like the ones we got on a previous box, this bag of freeze dried fruit was tasty! It goes amazing on top of some yogurt in the morning.
The Snack Organisation - Rice Crackers. They were like proper rice crackers. A little spicy, crunchy and so moreish!
Kabuto Noodles – I’ve seen these at the supermarket before but have never tried them. I quite enjoyed it though I’m not a fan of noodles in a box.
Liberation Foods – Nuts. The nuts were ok, I found they didn’t have too much taste and some bits were quite hard but it didn’t stop us from eating it!
9Bar – Snack bars. Each are full of nutritious sunflower, pumpkin, sesame and hemp seeds with a smooth carob topping. These were very nice and to take to the office.
Provena – GF porridge. Apricot flavour I don’t like porridge so I haven’t tried it.
Chip Strips – This was my star product for the month. It comes out on the 23rd of November and you can buy it at Tesco’s and One Stop stores. They are very tasty crisps, thin and the flavours are pretty great. I got salt and vinegar and sour cream and onion and even though they aren’t my favourite crisps flavours, they were so good I ate them all in one seating!
Food Thoughts Cocoa Powder – this is proper good quality chocolate powder and it’s great for baking.
Cirio tomato passata and tomato chunks – This is the brand I always use for all my tomato sauces and tomato-based recipes. I love their passata in plastic bottles and so easy to keep in the fridge once opened.

Now for my Chorizo pasta bake!


This is one of my favourite pasta dishes and one that I use to have all the time when I was a kid. It is a very common Spanish dish that everybody loves!

Here is what you need:

300g penne pasta
50g chorizo, chopped in small dices
200ml tomato passata
1 bay leaf
1 tsp Italian herbs
Cheese to sprinkle, grated.

Pre-heat the oven at 180 degrees. Cook the pasta for a few minutes under what it says on the box and reserve a cup of the cooking water.
While the pasta is cooking fry the chorizo for a couple minutes in a pan and then add the tomato sauce with the bay leaf and the herbs.
Let it cook for a few minutes and then add to the pasta with a small amount of the cooking water (about a glass).
Put it all in an oven proof dish, sprinkle with as much cheese as you want and put in the oven for 20min or until the cheese topping is hard.
Serve hot.
